Apple Tart

I love treats & I love baking! But – what I love even more is healthy treats. Baking is definitely one of my favourite pastimes and this apple tart recipe (that a friend and I created) is simple, delicious and a healthier take on sweet!

Ingredients:

  • Puff Pastry (store bought)
  • 4 Pink Lady Apples
  • 1-2 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 1-2 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • Flaked Almonds

Instructions

  1. Chop up the apple and cook on medium heat in boiling water
  2. Add the honey and cinnamon and let the apples simmer and the water reduce (approximately 10 minutes)
  3. Monitor the water and add more if it reduces and apples are still hard
  4. Lay out a sheet of puff pastry in a bread tin (cover the base)
  5. Place the apple filling down the centre of the pasty and fold over the edges of the pastry making a border
  6. Sprinkle flaked almonds over the apple tart
  7. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes on 180 C

So simple, so delicious! Get Busy Baking 😀
